Model of service delivery

SMH–YSDM: one continuum, three settings.

Implemented with the Ministry of Education and Sports, the school-based and youth mental health service delivery model extends support beyond secondary schools into tertiary institutions.

Task-shifting, institutional integration, peer support

Our model is designed to ensure that a student is never handed off without a next step. School-based mental health support flows across different educational stages while staying connected to referral systems and community actors.

Primary schools — storytelling and emotional learning.

Secondary schools — group therapy, drama, sports.

Colleges & universities — peer support, counselling linkages, stress management — with college youth trained as peer mental health champions who run awareness campaigns, facilitate peer groups, and reduce stigma from within.

What this means in practice

We combine teacher facilitation, structured screening, counselling referrals, youth peer engagement, and school-level psychosocial activities so that targeted support is both consistent and sustainable.
